You may ask yourself:
Another architect, another ego, another opinion? …how boring.

I am me. Claudio Silvestrin.

I strive to be more man and less architect, with more heart and less mind, more truth and less opinion.

In my work, I am inspired by Creation.
I am fascinated by the beauty and wisdom of Creation: the cosmos, nature, our body (physical, etheric, with a soul and spiritual).

Creation has its own laws (it could not care less about ours).

I have chosen two laws as a source of design inspiration:

— minimum effort, maximum yield
— no right angles (to facilitate the flow of energy)

I imagine a workshop with enthusiastic young people designing inspired by these two laws… it is going to be fun!

Programme

I will open the workshop with a presentation on my idea of architecture, my vision and my approach to design.

I will then show examples of creative drawings of architectures and spaces without corners, and invite you to design inspired by these concepts.

On the evening of October 4th at 18:00, the exhibition featuring the workshop projects and Claudio Silvestrin's work will open.

There will be no grades, no judgments, and no jury.

Mario Cresci Workshop

Dates: November 7, 8, 2026
Hours: 10:00–13:00, 14:00–18:00
Exhibition:
November 6 – December 13, 2026
Location: 3611 Castello, 30122 Venice

I have reached an age where memory scatters into the mist of recollections. An age in which the human body is a container of strong emotions, passions and disappointments, victories and defeats, joys and sorrows, loves and heartbreaks — essentially a container of a life lived intensely in the alternation of feelings.

I have understood photography as a way to see the world, but above all, to think it. I loved Duchamp for his departure from retinal art in favor of a substantial recovery of thought, allowing art to express the infinite paths of imagination, no longer tied to the vision of the real world. The photography of 19th-century positivism had already been overturned in the moves of Duchamp's chessboard.

My workshop in Venice aims to be a meeting of different and contrasting feelings — the lives of others — in which the use of the photographic medium can be understood as an expressive form of thought and a desire to communicate, not as pure retinal form. As if to say, 'it is always dreams that give shape to reality.'
